Challenge Day #4: GREEN nails

Hiya! Today's challenge was green nails. Similar to Orange Day, I had to support one of my football teams--this time the Green Bay Packers. So I wanted to do green and golden yellow... and then I saw this post by the lovely Marta at ChitChatNails and fell in love with it! I decided to go for a more delicate stamping pattern, though, because 1) I didn't want to totally copy her, and 2) I just used the tiger/zebra striped plate on the orange nails! So I came up with my own interpretation:

Indoors with flash... the holo sparkle is so evident in real life,
I'm sad it didn't come out well in these photos.

I used one coat of Zoya Ivanka (the most beautiful green polish ever invented) over two coats of Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear in Emerald City for the pointer and pinky finger, and the middle finger and thumbnail were painted with 2 coats of a frankenpolish I made--it started out as NYC 114A Taxi Yellow Creme, but I added a bit of some random orange and white to it, to make it more opaque and golden/Packers yellow. The ring finger has two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a great slightly off-white with a lovely shine (probably my favourite polish from their Spider-Man collection!). Over all the nails went a coat of INM Northern Lights for some scattered holographic sparkle. Next, I stamped over the white accent nail with an image from plate BM-306, from the 2012 Bundle Monster set, in Konad black special polish. Finally, a quick topcoat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast to seal in the stamped design, and it was good to go. (Seche Vite is normally my topcoat of choice, but I have found that Wicked Fast is the least likely to smudge stamped designs, so I use it when stamping, especially in black.)  :)

One more pic, this time in sunlight...

Shinyyyyyy... Look how Ivanka glows on my index and pinky fingers. LOOK. *_*

That does it for today... Stay tuned for the blue design, I think it's my favourite so far! xoxo

  1. OOOOH! I love how this turned out for you. I like the shimmer in these shades against the black and white nail. Well done, thank you for the shout out :D
