Swatch & Review | Harvey Specter by Colores de Carol

Hello! Man, I feel horrible this week. It's either a severe cold or a mild flu, but I'm pretty sure I'm dying. OF THE PLAGUE. /melodrama

I did manage to get my nails painted once. Because my newest purchase arrived--the limited-edition Harvey Specter by Colores de Carol!

I've been following her blog for ages, and am always awed by her creativity, stamping skill, and the fact that she manages to post every day. So when she first started her own polish line, I knew that one day I'd buy some of her stuff. The time has finally come!

I can't get over how much it matches the sequins on this bag :D

Harvey Specter is a fantastic navy/royal blue, chunky holo glitter in a clear base. It shines in electric blue, pink, purple, and green at different angles. I wish the glitter was a bit more densely-packed, but it's totally fantastic! It looks like my blog background, and I love it to tiny bits.

MUD Swatch & Review, Part 2

Good day! Today is the day of the wedding! By the time you read this, I'll have had: a very busy day of doing nails and getting ready, the privilege of attending my friend's ceremony, and several offerings from the open bar at the reception ;)

I have three more MUD polishes to show you today. Let's get to it!

MUD Swatch & Review, Part 1

Hiya! If you're seeing this, it means I am in sunny, hot Perth and Blogger's post scheduler is working properly ;)

I was at Coles (a local grocery store) recently, and saw a brand in the cosmetics section I haven't seen before. It's probably common here--I just have avoided buying much makeup because it's so much more expensive here than I'm used to! But this was reasonably priced, so I grabbed some eyeshadows and then all six nail polish colours I could find. The brand is called MUD (Make Up Daily), and it's all surprisingly good quality! I will show you three shades today and three next time :) So click the jump below to check 'em out!

Indie Polish Swatch Time | 38

Hello everyone!

I'm going to make this post quick, because 1) I'm sick, boo; and 2) there's a cyclone coming this way! It shouldn't hit my area directly--it's mostly north of here--but we're already getting lots of rain, and it's just going to get worse over the next day or two. Floods might mean power outages or worse, so I want to get this up now!

I recently swatched a few Indie Polish goodies for you (here and here), but I have one more to show you today!

Swatch & Review Time with Indie Polish (or, Slashers to Ashes)

Hello everyone! Today I'm very happy to be reviewing some polishes by the lovely and talented Tanya from Indie Polish! You've already seen the amazing Birthday Party in action, and it will definitely make another appearance soon :) but today I have two other beauties for you!

This is quite the pic-heavy post, so clickity-click to move... onward!

2 Springy 2 Sinful

terrible 2 fast 2 furious reference there

*ahem* Hi! Finally back in my house (new kitchen and tiles = AWESOME! it feels like a new place!) and I have some new (to me) polishes to show off. Those of you who follow me on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook will have already seen the cute look I did with these shades for one of the friends who kindly let me stay with her. Today I have swatches and a gradient look for you, featuring Sinful Colors Unicorn and Rain Storm!

piCture pOlish Multichrome Swatchfest, Part 3: Gravity

Hiya! Sorry I'm late with part 3 of my piCture pOlish LE Swatchfest! It was gloomy and rainy yesterday, and that's no weather for photographing holographic, multichromatic polishes. I got loads of photos today, so let's get to it! (Parts 1 and 2 can be seen here and here.)

The last polish I have to show you is Gravity. It is primarily a dusky midnight blue, but shifts to cerulean, teal, purple, pink, and at some angles even a dusty mauve. And of course, it sports those lovely PP scattered holo flecks!

piCture pOlish Multichrome Swatchfest, Part 1: Aurora

Good morning!

Today's post will be one of a three-part set of posts featuring three of the latest Limited Edition collection by piCture pOlish!

Swatches of these gorgeous shades have been floating around here and there since February, I believe, but I am not one of those lucky bloggers who gets sneak previews (yet? *bats eyes at my favourite brands*), so I had to wait just like the rest of you. I never saw Aurora's partner Borealis in stock, and I decided to pass on Illusionist and Altered State (also gorgeous, but similar enough to these that I could get away without them) to focus on the three most unique.

These are all multichromatic shimmers with PP's signature scattered holo flakes, and they're amazing! I call them "galaxy manicure in a bottle", and I think you will see why. So over the next three days, I'll post about a million photos :D prepare for pic-heaviness, and let's get this party started!

First up is, in my opinion, the star of the collection: Aurora!

Swatch Time! Metallic Cobalt Blue & Chunky Rainbow Glitter

Hello hello :)

Today's post is relatively simple--I just want to show off a couple of new (to me) polishes today! A chunky rainbowy glitter by Face of Australia, which I'll show you second, and then a really gorgeous shimmery blue.

Indie Polish Swatches, Part 1

G'day, gorgeous!

Today's post will be part 1 of a 2-part swatch-and-review of some polishes I received recently. Indie Polish recently had a discount on international shipping, so I had to get in on that. I picked up one of their grab bags--four mini bottles of polish, chosen randomly. I'll show you my two favourites today as well as a nail art look for each. Next time I'll show you the other two, as well as a few images of the cute packaging it came in!

First up is the most beautiful polish I've seen in a long time. It is called Regal, and it's a stunning warm, medium green with a strong golden shimmer. It's incredible!

This is two lovely coats of Regal (plus topcoat). Oh my, I just have no words. It's SO pretty. The pics don't even do it justice. I had actually intended to swatch all four of these polishes in a row and get the pics up at one time, but I made the mistake of starting with this beauty, and couldn't bear to take it off. Ended up wearing it as a full mani for a day, then adding art and keeping it two more days!

"Hello, even in shade and low light, I am wonderful."
"But I'm even nicer in the sun!"
To accentuate the golden shimmer without covering too much of it, I added some Born Pretty Store gold studs...

An instant favourite in my entire collection, this one. My only regret is that I only have a mini bottle! Might have to pop back over to her shop soon :)

My second favourite of this collection is a simple neon pink. Yes, I have other neon pinks that are very nice. But do I have any others that apply smoothly, cover in two coats, and are brilliant and bright without needing a white base coat underneath? No I do not.

As is so often the case with neons, I couldn't get it to photograph right. It's brighter and more opaque than it appears here, and much more so than it looks in the bottle. Think Lisa Frank, think China Glaze Summer Neons, think "ouch, my retinas". It's wonderful.

Two coats plus topcoat gives you this opacity and shine. Fabulous! It also is the kind of bright funky pink that crosses into edgy, punk territory. And I just bought these cool black star sequins the same day... so...

Black stars and striping tape and they are totally ready for an MXPX concert. (I wish they'd play here!) Striping tape is so finicky to work with, by the way. If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen my mishap the other day. In trying to clip off the end of the tape, I slipped and clipped off a corner of my nail! ARRGHHH! Fortunately, I was able to file it down and it isn't too noticeable here--you can't even tell, can you?--but I can totally tell and it is driving me CRAZY.

My rose-scented reed diffuser thingy came with one reed that has this butterfly on it! Had to pose with it.

And one more with my awesome silver holo handbag from DSW. Look at those rainbows! I'm going to start including this bag as a backdrop in every post ever. Maybe.
So, that's it for now! Part 2 will come next Thursday. I hate to break it up like that, but I ran out of time! Tomorrow morning I fly out for a short holiday. I hope you won't miss me too much ;) I am visiting a friend in Perth, on the west coast. I will probably do a quick post from there, as we're planning a manicure night and I will definitely get pics. I can't wait! So take your vitamins, eat your veggies, drink plenty of water, and I'll see you next week. Take care! xoxo

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine swatches

Good day :)

Today I have some swatches of the two Sally Hansen Lustre Shine polishes I managed to snag. The Lustre Shine lacquers are rich, opaque duo- and multi-chromes infused with real silver, and boy are they beautiful!

Having seen the entire collection (you can peruse them all here), I have to say these two--Scarab and Firefly--would be my favourites anyway! The only one I wish I'd been able to get aside from these is Lava.

This is a very pic-heavy post--duochromes always need it, there's so much to see!--so I'll post the swatches after the jump:

Sparkly Starry Nails feat. piCture pOlish Cosmos!

Hiya, ladies and gents! Today I have a manicure that's blue and glittery and electric and does my blog proud. I have had this polish for a few months now and can't believe I'm only just now getting around to showing you. It's piCture pOlish Cosmos, and here's what it inspired me to do!

Click to enlarge :D you should probably do that with all the pics in this post!

This is a pic-heavy post, because I couldn't narrow it down, this polish is just SO PRETTY... so click the jump to see the rest. Or close the window and go back to looking at pics of cats or whatever. But I encourage you to stick around for this glittery beauty!

Lacquer Lust Birthstone Swatches: Tanzanite, Peridot, and Diamond

Hello hello! Today I'll be sharing with you three of the new Lacquer Lust Birthstone Collection polishes! These babies went on sale a couple of week ago and sold out within the hour, but yours truly took a late lunch and sat there refreshing like a madwoman at work, just waiting... and managed to get the three I wanted!

Unfortunately, one was lost in a tragic accident during swatching :( I'm absolutely gutted. I've never dropped and broken one of my polishes before, and of course the one time I do, it's a rare, irreplaceable, and gorgeous shade. But I did get a few pics beforehand.

This is a super picture-heavy post, so I added a page break. Click the jump to see the swatches!

Alphabet Challenge: P is for... Purple Private Dancers

Hello, pals! Back with another alphabet-inspired manicure for you!

Pretty! (holy crap she finally did another stamping mani, waaaat?)

This time it's based on the letter P, and I have been waiting for this one, because I got a fancy special polish a couple of months ago and was dying to try it out! It's Private Dancer, by Deborah Lippman. This is my first DL polish--this stuff is expensive! (but it was on sale!)--and I'm quite proud of it.

Layla Hologram Effects: Coffee Love!

So, like most people in the nail blogging community (and--let's be honest--on the planet), I have a major thing for holographic rainbowy shinyness. How can one not love the prismatic effect of holo polishes? I am lucky enough to own a few (and have the 2013 Halo Hues collection on the way--cannot WAIT!), and today I am going to show you my absolute favourite one so far: Layla Hologram Effects #16 Coffee Love. I adore it not only for the name (coffee is pretty much my life force), but for how rich and beautiful it is.

Ladies and gentlemen, grab your bibs and drool-rags, because this is just off-the-charts gorgeous!

Be still, my heart. (Click to enlarge. srsly. do it.)

The rich chocolatey coffee brown! The brilliant sparkling rainbow effects! OMG.

I know I usually display nail art here, but I couldn't bear to do anything over this. I have a stamping plate with a wee coffee cup on it, but... would you be able to cover any of this? And if the stamping had any flaw whatsoever it would just take away from the awesome. So I left it as is, and took about a hundred jillion photos. My four favourites are on this page today :D You'll want to click to enlarge them, because the full-size images are WAY nicer!

With my sweet leopard-print steering wheel cover, in the sunlight :D

Indoors with flash. Dancing rainbows <3

Look at that reddish-sunsetty-orange glow, and the greens and blues so prominent on the index finger! aahhhhhh :D

Yep, that's all I have for you now. No witty quips... there's nothing I can add to this. See you next time for some proper nail art! xoxo

Dollicious Polish by Frederick's of Hollywood -- swatches and review

Hello everyone! Today I have a different kind of post, something new for Glittericity--my very first swatch-and-review post! I'm pretty excited about it, because 1) the polishes were a Christmas gift from my mother, and 2) I've never seen them on any other nail blog so far!

I'm posting this now because these colours are perfect for Valentine's Day--I want to do some cute nail art with them at the start of February--and while supplies last, it looks like they are on clearance for a mere $3. Whaaaaaat? (Only available in the US though...) :(

The polishes are sold in a trio and the collection is called Dollicious. They come in a cute box like this:

This is longer and more pic-heavy than usual, so the rest of the review will be after the jump! Keep reading to see the rest!
