Happy Easter! Eggs in the Grass

Hi everyone! Happy Easter to all. Even if you don't celebrate this one, you can't really go wrong with a day of pretty pastel colours, sweets, and cute spring animals :)

I've done some egg-themed nails for the occasion, using several nail polishes and some green acrylic paint.

The background is three coats of Essie Bikini So Teeny, the grass is green acrylic paint, and the rest is done with lots of assorted polishes. If anyone is interested I can give more details in the comments--just ask :) I painted the eggs onto a plastic bag to make decals, and then applied them to my grassy background with topcoat.

I had originally intended to put some grass over the eggs as well, to make them look hidden and more realistic, but I liked the way this looks and decided to leave them unobscured. So I topped it with Seche Vite and called it a day!

Easter Egg Skittle Nails: Easter Nail Design #2

Hello lovelies! Super quick post today! I'm heading to the beach for the weekend! I am creating a really special manicure for this trip, one I have been wanting to do for a while. I collected some materials last year and with the release of the new Zoya Pixie Dust shades, I have everything I need to make it amazing! That's all I'll say for now ;) you'll have to wait and see. For now, have a look at the easter-egg nails I wore this week!

Do they look like multicoloured eggs? :)

I used lots of polishes and stamps for this, obviously. Let's go down the list!

Thumb: Base colour is Orly Snowcone. Stamping is from Bundle Monster plate BM-302 in Konad white and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri #220 Flashy Fuschia. Grass painted on with a small brush and Orly Fresh.

Index finger: Base of Zoya Jolene. Stamping with Bundle Monster plate BM-323 in Sally Hansen Insta-Dri #230 Silver Sweep.

Middle finger: Base of Sinful Colors #947 Mint Apple. Stamping with Bundle Monster plate BM-314 in Konad white .

Ring finger: Base of Revlon #325 Gumdrop (scented polish!). Stamping with Mash plate 43 in OPI Gift Cards For Everyone.

Small finger: Base of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear #360 Mellow Yellow. Stamping with Mash plate 45 and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri #220 Flashy Fuschia.

As you can see, the stamping wasn't perfect :( small and ring fingers smudged near the tip... But I still thought these were cute and I had a lot of fun wearing them.

Baby Pink, Glitter, and Flowers: Easter Nail Design #1

Good evening, darlings :D Next Sunday is Easter! I'll be at the beach then (and am SUPER excited about the manicure I have planned for that trip), so I'll fit in all my pastel Eastery designs this week. Here is the first one...

Awww, so sweet.

I started with Revlon #911 Pink Chiffon. When I first got this polish, I remember being dismayed at how sheer it was and how it took SO many coats to be opaque. I'd sort of written it off, but when I gave it another try, it only took three thin coats to look like this. I think perhaps it's thickened up a bit since when I first used it? Anyway, I'm quite happy with it now! It's very soft and baby-pink.

While the third coat was still wet, I sprinkled on some iridescent pink craft glitter. I was kind of going for a gradient glitter tip, but it ended up going over most of the nail so I just went with it. There is SO much of this glitter, it will last a lifetime:

Anyway, I decided it needed just a bit more, so I accented the index and middle fingers with some nail stickers I got at Nail Polish Canada! The brand is Cala and this set can be found here.

Tried a new topcoat! This is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri #110 Clearly Quick. It's not quite as fast-drying as my others, but it's reasonably fast and has that nice thick "juicy" shine. I'm a fan!

Indoors, indirect lighting. As anyone who's ever tried to photograph this kind of glitter knows, it's hard to show off just how sparkly it is in pics. This was a pretty good capture :)

Whimsical / Glitter in the Air Dupe

Hi all! Just a quick post today--still recovering, but wanted to show you what is on my nails now, because it's so pretty! I don't quite have the energy for elaborate nail art at the moment, but I wanted something soft anyway, and I thought it was the perfect time to pull out this polish I bought a few months ago.

Many of you polish lovers will remember when Revlon came out with their dupes of some fancy Deborah Lippman polishes. I bought quite a few of them, including Whimsical, the dupe of DL's Glitter In The Air. Soft sheer sky blue with sparse baby pink and blue hexes. I layered it over Soulstice Spa Kona, which is exactly like the base colour of Whimsical. Topped off with Seche Vite for shine.

I know this is nothing unique, really just a swatch, but wanted to show it off.
