Sheer Tints & Glitter Gradient

Hello! Wow, another busy week. I've barely had any time to do my nails at all--but I have prepared one mani for you today, as well as two scheduled to go out while I'm away in Perth :) I can't wait to watch my beautiful friend get married, and to do nails for her and her bridesmaids. I'll have pics when I return!

About a month ago, I saw something at my local OPI supplier that I've been waiting on for a year--the Sheer Tints! They finally made their way to Australia. I immediately snatched them up, and this is the first design I did with them!

The base is just a single coat of Wet N' Wild Black Creme. Over that, two coats of Picture Polish Storm, a great white glitter topper. It's packed with all sizes of opaque white hexes, and one coat is plenty to add a pretty snowy effect to any base. I used two, though, just to make sure I had lots of white space for the next step to show up.

That next step was to use all four Sheer Tints: I Can Teal You Like Me (blue), Don't Violet Me Down (purple), Be Magentale With Me (pink), and I'm Never Amberrassed (yellow). I started at the cuticle, and in the previous order, painted them in horizontal stripes over the white glitter base. I slightly overlapped each colour to make an extra-smooth gradient. The formula on these is a little bit thick and gloppy, but not as bad as I'd expected from all the reviews I read. They did take a little longer than average to dry, and then I topped it all with Seche Vite.

Simple to do, yet really striking! I'm looking forward to experimenting more with these. I think the pink will work well as a French base when applied in a thin layer on a naked nail. :)

Have a wonderful weekend! I'll be up at 5:30am tomorrow to get ready for my flight. (It's been a long time since I needed to be out of bed that early... I think I should prepare my coffee maker the night before!) But as I said, I'll have some posts scheduled to go out while I'm away, and I'll have so much to show you when I return. See you then! xoxo
